2021 Roster – 2022 Season Favourites

Is Judge’s Stellar Season enough to throw off the Wicketmen’s Yoke?

These Rankings are based on the 2021 Final Rosters – No end of season trades considered

What does next season look like before the cuts, the draft and of course the trades.

Robinson Division

Once again, Bristol gets the nod, a very strong nod with a WAR of 84. The truth of the matter, unless Bristol trades away its best players, there is very little chance any other team will usurp them from being the favoured team going into the season. That doesn’t mean playoff chances are outside the realm of possibility for the other teams in the division. Ottawa (66 WAR) and Beaconsfield (64 WAR) could both be Wild Card Teams as things stand. Any trade in this division most assuredly swings the advantage to that team. Montreal is an after thought – kind of like after Expo ’67

Jenkins Division

The defending BDB Champs, the Langley Spartans (73 WAR) are once again the top team in the division, and will probably not be overcome by any draft or trades. The rest of the division, Hamilton, Madawaska and North Bay (all with 52 WAR) are nothing more for fodder for Langley.

Walker Division

Well, it looks like last season’s Cinderella – The Sharks of Nassau (44 WAR) have gone back to being one of the ugly step sisters. Sacramento (65 WAR) has dusted itself off and is pushing to return to the division’s top billing. Yorkshire (52 WAR) seems to be a team on the decline, and Stittsville (48 WAR) a team on the rise, but as we all know, fortunes changes with a few picks and a few trades. Look for both teams to not be much competition to the league’s top teams.
