First Month Done…

It’s the end of the first round of inter divisional games and … the surprise of all surprises, Ottawa is on top with a 13-11 record even though they have a minus run differential of -10.  Their secret?  9-3 in one run games and 5-1 in extra innings.   What is even more surprising is who is at the bottom of the inter division scramble, the favored Wicketmen.  Why?  Simply because their pitching jut didn’t cut it in this offensive rich environment of the Robinson Division.

The clash between the Jenkins and Frobel Division led the Hamilton Redbirds to finish the round with the best record in the league at 14-10.  The most underperforming team are the years defending Champions, the Montreal Menace.  They sport the top run differential with +21 led by their top hitter Miguel Cabrera who is a hit under .400 and Nelson Cruz who leads with 11 home runs and 24 RBI.  Either one will do for top hitter of the first month.

Clayton Kershaw takes the pitcher of the month award with a 5-0 record and the Fireman of Award goes to … I’ll let you decide between Kiji Uehara 1.80 and 7 saves and Craig Kimbrel 2.38 and seven saves not to mention 21 K’s in 11.1 innings.

The next inter divisional round will be the Jenkins Division where Hamilton will try to separate themselves from the rest of the Division and Langley will work hard to prove that their veteran legs still have a good season in them.
